Functional Activities
Back to Performance and Accountability
These documents list and define DPR’s 11 major program functions, their activities and their cost accounting codes. A “function” is performed by more than one branch and reflects key outputs driven by statutory requirements. For example, pesticide registration includes all DPR activities to register a pesticide product. This includes processing a registration application, doing technical and scientific evaluations, and other activities. Several branches (not just the Pesticide Registration Branch) share responsibility for these activities. DPR uses a “function-based” approach to better manage the costs and performance of specific program functions, rather than a traditional approach that focuses on activities of specific organizational units.
